Feb 12, 2009, my wife and I decided to take a long ride to baguio and celebrate there Valentines day! So we prepared for it.
I prepared my sniper for a first long ride.
reasons why we decided to have a long ride at hearts day
1st reason - to change the idea how to celebrate hearts day! We've been celebrating feb 14 as having a dinner date, watch movie.
2nd - to visit my mother and grand mother
3rd - torture test of my sniper
We took off house at exactly 0430H. Odometer @ 6120.4 kms. I drink COBRA energy drink and then we had a short prayer
my wife and my sniper before took off
we had a quite relax ride as not so much cars and motors moving around. But we had a slow pace as a start 60-80kph.
passing malolos was also a slow pace because the road is not so lighted. Dun ko naappreciate ang importance ng HID.
so I guess that is my next project. When passing angeles-dau-mabalacat, I was confused. So many intersections and circles.
It was my first time taking mc arthur going north because I usually used NLEX up to mabalacat. Nung nasa mabalacat na
kami, I remember the place and then we saw a group of riders (4 mc's with back rides). I thought we could tag along with them
but gosh medyo slow pacing nila (about 70-80 kph), kaya I overtooked them.
at 0607, we had our first stop over at Luisita place, Tarlac and there we had our first date for that day at pancake house
(only food store open that time). I had hot cappuccino and my wife had vienna coffee.
Conquering tarlac roads was unforgettable because so many straights and there you can determine how fast your motorcycle
can take. But be careful, please concentrate on the roads more farther. Until I noticed my gas was on the red line. Oh my gosh!
I slowed down to 40-50kph inorder to save fuel until I saw total gas station at Gerona. I gassed up 50pesos only cause they have
only unleaded, premium and diesel and I dont want to put 93octane or below into my tanks but I need gasoline that time! I think this
will be enough for me to find shell or petron. 15 mins later, we had gassep up again at Petron. I ask the gas boy to pour in blaze
and make it full! he he. after that, HATAW NA NAMAN! Pero nagtataka lang ako, yung grupong na overtaken ko sa mabalacat, after
I overtook them again at tarlac after luisita, NAOVERTAKan na naman namin sila bandang binalonan! Damn di naman kami nag stop over!
Then bente9 inform me lately sa tambayan na may short cut dun sa may bandang carmen at labas binalonan na. Yung papuntang
cabanatuan ba yun o nueva ecija. Ah never used pa kasi that road eh he he. But next I will use that one.
0855H, last gas stop before baguio at agoo, la union. Yes we took agoo and make our way to Baguio taking Marcos Highway as
part of my "torture test" sa akin MC.
LOOK WHAT "THEY" did to the famous head of late pres Ferdinand Marcos because they thought there were gold hidden at that place.
Conquering marcos highway was memorable according to my wife because it was her first time na "bangking bangking". Sabi nga niya
medyo natatakot daw siya pero masarap daw he he.... Trying na mag "ala barcial" nga me kasi trying to reach yung daan eh. So I ask
my wife to hold close to me and just follow my body moves at "wag kontrahin" ang bangking kako. Well luckily, endi naman kami kumalat
pero di ko maattain yung barcial moves eh he he. Tiwala naman din ako sa gulong ko at sa daan cause pure cement at very dry. at wide
roads. I think and I may say na mas safe dumaan sa marcos highway, paakyat panaog man when ging to baguio but then, medyo malayo
nga lang compare sa kennon road. Medyo nahirapan lang MC ko kasi medyo mabigat kami ni misis eh he he. Tas mostly full throttle pa but
then I was just using 3rd and 2nd gear only and speed of 60-80kph. Long stretch na paakyat, ayun bwelong segunda talaga he he.
anyway, touch down baguio at 1040H we had lunch at burnham park as soon as we got to baguio cause gosh medyo tomguts na kami ni misis. Kasi pag sa bahay pa ng
lola ko eh magluluto pa kaya dun na lang sa maraming umuusok na kainan dun he he..
after lunch, we visited my mother and grand mother sa Middle rock quarry. and had a 2 hrs rest
after 2 hrs rest, my wife and I went to burnham park and spend there our valentines date. We had finger foods and "intimate talk".
Medyo nagsawa na kasi kami ni misis sa set up na dinner together, or watch movies or had "intimate talk" sa malamig at madilim na lugar. nyaks!
We tried to find a place to trash in but what the heck, most of hotels were fully booked! Daming tao sa baguio kasi so we decided na
umuwi na lang at ituloy ang "intimate talk" na lang sa bahay he he..
so we departed baguio city at 1600H. We did not went around baguio city kasi for sure daming tao din sa mga scenic places and
we often go up at Baguio City anyway. about once a year me and my family are going to Baguio City. As planned, we will try Kennon road for
going down he he...
engine brake is the key here when going down. I learned it from my dad and I usually use this method in my car. Reason my dad say is that
if your rely so much on your brakes, there will be a tendency that when your brakes are very hot, it may fail and cannot brake anymore. So
I usually used 2nd gear for downhill playing at 3rd gear.

behind. Buti nga endi nayupi sasakyan niya nung kinalampag ko ng malakas eh ha ha. . paano kung di man naman kasi inutil eh atras lang ng
atras..
Medyo mabilis na pace namin pauwi dahil ayaw ko maabutan ng dilim din dahil naiinis ako sa mga cars, trucks, jeeps and buses na di marunong
mag Low beam...hay, if only I am using HID makikita nila ako na nagrereklamo he he..
We had to slow down entering carmen pangasinan cause medyo umaambon na up to Tarlac. Nakakainis kasi impact sa helmet ko ay parang ulan.
If only may wipers ang mga helmets it will not be a problem sana he he.

at luisita time we took our dinner at Jollibee cause that time parang namiss ko ang CHICKEN joy he he. At timing may
mini concert dun. Mini dahil as if they are just playing music. Yun nga lang live. Unplugged ang dating so after dinner,
we sat down outside and we listened to music.
After luisita, ang dilim ng daan grabe. until makalabas sa tarlac. At mabalacat, grabe HEAVY TRAFFIC! as if endi talaga gumagalaw ang
mga cars. So I had to do Motorcycle moves! pero medyo masikip pa rin dahil mga jeeps at tricycles ay siksik na rin sa gilid. until angeles,
ayun medyo maluwag na. Road going to san fernando ay parang ghost street! I remember my wife ask me, "Is this really the road going
back?" Talagang madilim at mdalang ang daan. Until medyo nagkaroon na street lights. We had our final gassed up at malolos bulacan.
By that time, may nakasasabayan kami na xrm. bumubuntot sa amin lang kaya pakitang gilas me he he. iwan ko siya. Tas medyo wait ko
tas iwan na naman. Wala ayaw ata humataw so I decided to wait for him at bumuntot na lang sa kanya. Medyo malungkot din pala talaga
ang solo ride. Pero grabe galing naman ng xrm rider na lumusot. I cannot do what he is doing cause medyo alanganin. Well maybe because
may back ride ako kaya medyo ayaw ko rin gawa niya. But then buntot lang ako dahil siguro wait niya rin me. Then napansin ko na parang
pansin niya siguro na ayaw ko naman overtake so we tagged along. Ganda ng jacket niya ha in fairness. Alpinestar at wala ako pa nakikita
na meron nun. sa kanya lang. We had fun until marilao where he turned right sa ibayo, caltex. I dont know if mag papagas lang siya or dun
siya umuuwi. Nakakatuwa is that kumaway siya then bumisina naman ako. Natuwa ako kasi somewhat somehow, nagkaroon ako ng friends
while along the road. Looking forward na ma meet ko ulit yung XRM rider na yun. Nakalimutan ko nga lang kunin plate niya.
anyway, at 2235, touchdown home! Nakita ko si misis pagod na pero sa kin lang ha, medyo nabitin ako sa ride he he..gusto ko pa nga eh
he he...but then naramdaman ko pagod after 30 mins...
