    Continuation from part I

    ---------------

Heres a table of sprocket combination for reference.
the stock gear ratio is 2.6 (in bold)

the color green gear ratio are high speed sprocket combination.
the lower the gear ratio, the more high speed (top speed, less acceleration)

the color red are low speed sprocket combination.
the higher the gear ratio the more low speed. (good acceleration, less speed)

Front teeth | Rear teeth= Gear Ratio

    16 34 = 2.125
    15 32 = 2.13
    16 35 = 2.19
    15 33 = 2.20
    16 36 = 2.25
    15 34 = 2.26
    14 32 = 2.28
    16 37 = 2.31
    15 35 = 2.33
    14 33 = 2.35
    16 38 = 2.38
    15 36 = 2.4
    14 34 = 2.42
    16 39 = 2.44
    15 37 = 2.47
    16 40 = 2.5
    14 35 = 2.5
    15 38 = 2.53
    16 41 = 2.56
    14 36 = 2.57

    15 39 = 2.6 Stock gear ratio

    16 42 = 2.63
    14 37 = 2.64
    15 40 = 2.67
    16 43 = 2.69
    14 38 = 2.71
    15 41 = 2.73
    16 44 = 2.75
    14 39 = 2.79
    15 42 = 2.8
    16 45 = 2.81
    14 40 = 2.86
    15 43 = 2.87
    16 46 = 2.88
    14 41 = 2.93
    15 44 = 2.93
    16 47 = 2.94
    15 45 = 3
    14 42 = 3
    15 46 = 3.07
    14 43 = 3.07
    14 44 = 3.14
    14 45 = 3.21
    14 46 = 3.29

so if you want more top speed than stock settings
use 14t front and 36t rear
or 16t front and 41t rear

    if you want more acceleration
use 13t front and 34t rear
or 16t front and 42t rear

BIGGER TIRES (100/80 and up): use color red
SMALLER TIRES (80/80 and below): use color green

depends on your tyre size or your weight.... if it is heavy, than go for the high ratio (2.6++).... if it is smaller, then go for the lower ratio (2.6 and below) :)

Hmm better std sprocket for maintaining good gearbox rotation

so what will be the best sprocket combi for a t135 with 80/80/17 front and 100/80/17 rear tires?

is it true that to attain a better top speed and pick up is when reducing the teeth of front sprocket, you should also add teeth to the rear sprocket and vice versa?

I just heard it from a friend, don't know if its true...

to my understanding, reducing the front sprocket, and increasing rear sprocket means u get better acceleration, but ur top speed would suffer...

    with 100/80 rear tire
go with sprocket combination with gear ratio value bigger than 2.6

how to compute for Gear Ratio?

Rear sprocket teeth DIVIDE by Front Sprocket Teet = GEAR RATIO

    example:
    42t rear / 16t front = 2.63

so your gear ratio with that sprocket combi is 2.63
since its higher than the stock sprocket gear ratio 2.6

that means you will have HIGH ACCELERATION than the stock sprocket.
top speed might decrease or the same...

If you feel you still need more acceleration, then look
for a sprocket combi with higher value of gear ratio than 2.63

    try 14t 37t gear ratio 2.67
    and so on...

    what is gear ratio means?

gear ratio of 2.6 (39t rear /15t front) means,
it needs 2.6 turns of engine to make 1 rear wheel revolution.

gear ratio of 1 (15t rear /15t front) means
1 turn of engine makes 1 turn of rear wheel.

gear ratio of 5 (80t rear /16t front) means
5 turns of engine makes 1 turn of revolution.

just imagine that when you pedal your bicycle.

    agree with traxxas here...

should also consider engine power when changing sprockets
a too low ratio for top speed might get too low for the engine power to drive the bike.. so all you get in 4th gear is deceleration instead of going faster...

as in my experience...15/40 is faster than 15/39 on our engine...coz with the 15/40...its decreases the engine load on 4th gear, and utilizes more of its power...but still, just like with scooters using roller weights...one combination for one bike may not work for other bike of the same model...its up to the owner to find out whats the best combination for his bike, patience is all you need

135lcss, you dont have to be confused, u have asked alot of questions on the sprocket combination, and our friends already answered you...

next step you have to trust the opinions and try it for yourself......then you will understand why we ask you to put bigger rear sprocket instead of lower it down....

trial and error is the best answer for you bro....
theres no easy where to get the satisfaction, it will cost you money, time and energy...
