hi guys

my fathers nouvo.
100% all stock 3000km odometer.

problem is it has backfire on exhaust.

if you run it in FULL throttle for 10 seconds or more
then you close the throttle, after some time it will backfire.
backfire means REALLY SHOWING FIRE ON EXHAUST
and the sound is big loud PAK!

any idea whats problem?

The Nouvo is running a little rich from the factory due to the auto clutch and it was not designed for full throttle usage. Compounding the problem is the catalytic exhaust system which will burn very hot, hot enough to cause a backfire when the throttle is shut off quickly.

so whats the solution bro?

i dont have nouvo JOB but one thing that i now if you encounter that problem is that you micht have some wear and tear on the exhaust hose..it is like the black hose....

DID you try cleaning the carb even its new?

One solution is to run a higher octane fuel. I run 95 octane fuel and it stopped the backfire. You might want to get fuel at a different station to see if it is bad gasoline that you are getting.

Any updates on your pop's nouvo Traxx?

Had the same problem before and did all these:

(1) Tightened, secured and checked exhaust pipe for leaks
(2) Adjusted variably the AF screw to look for improvements (must be lean with the backfire)
(3) Checked Spark Plug (Replace as necessary-might be due to misfire)
(3) Check/Replace ignition coil
(4) New Item: Check fuse(s) [One T135 user probem was this one)
(5) Trial and error remove and install air filter element

All to no avail....... still the problem persisted

(6) check if there is vacuum/air leak by plugging the pipe while engine is running; and by listening intently on rpm fluctuations, especially when activating CHOKE (for non auto choke bikes). If RPM jumps drastically high on choke and engine stalls at very low speed- air/vacuum leak exists

Culprit was a Crack on the Intake Manifold... repaired it first then replaced eventually, Backfires were a thing of the past.:)
