Doc and i are discussing privately about using some gear parts for his monster 200cc sniper

    2011 sniper part number
    50C–E7151–00 GEAR, 5TH PINION (27T) [#2 in 2011]

"Looks like" can be replaced to the old versions
    1S7–E7141–00 GEAR, 4TH PINION (22T) [#3 in old]

which will results to having a 4th gear ratio of 23/27 = 0.851

based from the drawing, it looks like its possible.

The more exciting answer would be "will it be possible to modify our existing t135 to use 5 speed tranny from new t135? " please say yes!!! Hehe!

dont only look at the transmission whether its 4 speed or 5 speed but also look a the primary gear ratio.
the vixion is 5 speed but the 5 speed trans of vixion and sniper mx dont actually have the same combination.
    mx sniper: g1-12/34, g2-16/30, g3-21/ 30, g4-24/28. g5-27/26.
    vixion g1-12/34, g2-16/30, g3-21/30, g4-21/24, g5-23/22.
granting both the vixion and sniper mx have the same primary gear ratio which of them have a higher top speed based on the transmission ratio if you would both equalize with a displacment of 150cc since the vixion block can fit in the sniper mx. being equal in displacement yet with different transmission ratio?

using www.gearingcommander.com let see how they will fair if both (vixion vs sniper mx) have the same primary gear ratio of 3.042 (primary gear ratio of sniper mx) and both are 135 cc. with the following variables:
    rear tire- 100/70 X 17
    final drive ratio-14/38
    speed at 8500 rpm.
    for sniper mx:
    g1-12/34-----39.2kph
    g2-16/30-----59.2
    g3-21/30-----77.7
    g4-24/28----95.1
    g5-27/26----115.2
***gearingcommander listed the 4th gear as pinion 26, main 27 instead of pinion 27, main 26. with the former the top speed was 106.8 kph instead of the actual 115.2.

vixion (if it were a 135cc)
    g1-12/34----39.2
    g2-16/30---59.2
    g3-21/30---77.7
    g4-21/24---97.1
    g5-23/22---116.1

lets look at the sniper 4 speed with primary gear ratio of 2.875
    stock engine
    rear tire 100/70 X 17
    final drive-14/38
    speed at 8500 rpm
    g1- 12/34----41.4kph
    g2- 16/30---62.6
    g3- 17/23---86.8
    g4- 22/23--112.3

actually its for my daily driver 210cc.hehehehe..i was trying to play around with gear ratios trying to get a wide ratio for my daily driver. the drag bike ratio is different coz its close ratio 4 speed (close ratio is defined as high speed first gear, low speed 2nd, 3rd, fourth). mine is more for highway cruising speeds dats why i chose a wide ratio (wide ratio is defined as low speed first gear, high speed second, third and fourth). my wide ratio combination is:
    gear 1- stock.
    gear 2- 17/29 ( i have a 28T dat i wanted to pair with the 17T for a higher speed 2nd but the 17/28 did not match..so thats one expensive paper weight..ouch)
    gear 3- 17/22
    gear 4- stock.
i like the long pull per gear for the wide ratio from second up. the bike is not quick as with a close ratio but to me the wide ratio is better for highway cruising speeds. i feel that fourth could pull longer if i can only find a wider ratio than stock.

i was looking for a 26T pinion (as seen in this picture) to match the stock 23T main gear for a wider fourth gear. sir traxxas did mention about the fifth gear from either a sniper mx (27T) or the vixion (23T) since they look very similar based on the catalog. the only problem if it will match the stock 23T main??? i could go trial and error for both the fifth gear vixion or mx but if the teeth dont match when they turn then it would be two expensive paper weights.

    doc

sniper mx has Fifth gear 26/27 =0.963
    and not 27/26 = 1.038

if the stock 23 / 26 aftermarket=0.884 in the photo were fit
i guess theres a high chance that stock 23/ 27 mx =0.851 also will fit

the 27 will give you much wider ratio on your mamaws 4th gear.

if it wont work at least it still has a purpose :D

with the wide ratio using gearingcommander.com, theoritically my speed would go like this (varialbes---stock engine, rear tire 80/90X 17, final drive 15/39, speed at 8500 rpm)
    stock
    g1-34/12----43.6 kph
    g2-30/16---65.8
    g3-23/17---91.2
    g4-23/22---118.1

    wide ratio
    g1-34/12----43.6
    g2-29/17----72.3
    g3-22/17----95.4
    g4-23/26---139.5 (if i can find a 26T)
    ***g4-23/23---123.4 (from a vixion)
    ***g4-23/27---144.9 (from sniper mx)
so a wide ratio allows a longer pull per gear from second up than compared to stock (speed in the real world of course also depends on power to weight ratio, etc..theoritically these are the figures based on the software computation)

any updates on this project sir's. is there any possibilities to convert the old sniper 4 speed tranny to 5 spd using mx tranny parts?
    thanks

few days ago ive seen a counter gear (in the machine shop) as shown exactly in your picture posted (right part)
its 26t, i dont know what motorcycle.

maybe its from wave, xrm as those bikes are common in our area.
basically it was just lying beside the lathe machine when i saw it,
i forgot to ask what motorcycle it came from.
